The awards gala, organized by Hormort, a leading manufacturer of concrete and mortar in Mallorca, took place on June 18 at the Palau de Congressos de Palma. The event highlights the most outstanding achievements in design, with a special focus on innovative, sustainable projects that have a low impact on the island’s urban landscape.

The Hormort Innovation Award recognizes initiatives that transform challenges into opportunities through innovative architectural design approaches and efficient construction solutions. For this reason, we are deeply grateful that ENVY has been recognized in this category.

ENVY is a luxury residence located in Santa Ponça, distinguished by its horizontal structure and elegant exposed concrete exterior. This material, both industrial and aesthetically striking, provides structural functionality while creating a unique visual presence.

During the design process, our goal was to use concrete in a way that preserved the warmth typically associated with a home, despite the potential imperfections inherent to its finish.

Precision in execution was crucial, as the structure itself constitutes the final finish. Construction supervision was carried out by technical architect Iñaki Fernández, from Coco Ingenieros, and the building work was completed by Iván Cazorla, from Building More, who delivered outstanding craftsmanship in the construction details, with the collaboration of Marga Comas in the interior design.

Commissioned by Patrick Hansmeier of Sophisticated Projects, this project gave us the opportunity to implement our vision for the use of concrete, resulting in a proposal that was approved on the first submission and a construction completed in less than a year.

Receiving the Hormort Innovation Award validates the effort and dedication invested in ENVY, and also highlights the importance of continuing to innovate and explore new frontiers in sustainable architecture. This recognition inspires us to keep creating projects that meet the highest standards while anticipating the future challenges of the industry.
